Xiaoyu Does the Laundry 小雨xiǎo yǔ洗衣服xǐ yī fu

On Saturday morning, Mom and Dad went to the supermarket to buy groceries. 星期六xīng qī liù早上zǎo shàng，爸爸bà ba妈妈mā ma去qù超市chāo shì买mǎi菜cài了liǎo。
Xiaoyu was doing her homework in her room. 小雨xiǎo yǔ在zài房间fáng jiān里lǐ写作xiě zuò业yè。
After finishing her homework, she saw that new dress. 写xiě完wán作业zuò yè后hòu，她tā看到kàn dào了liǎo那nà条tiáo新xīn裙子qún zǐ。
It was the one Mom bought for her yesterday. 这zhè是shì妈妈mā ma昨天zuó tiān给gěi她tā买mǎi的de，
It is a beautiful red dress. 是shì一条yì tiáo红色hóng sè的de裙子qún zǐ，很hěn漂亮piào liang。
Xiaoyu wanted to wear this dress to go out and play tomorrow. 小雨xiǎo yǔ想xiǎng明天míng tiān穿chuān这zhè条tiáo裙子qún zǐ出去chū qù玩儿wán ér。
Mom had said that new clothes must be washed first before wearing them. 妈妈mā ma说shuō过guò，新xīn衣服yī fu要yào先xiān洗xǐ一下yí xià才能cái néng穿chuān。
Xiaoyu took the dress to the bathroom. 小雨xiǎo yǔ拿ná着zhe裙子qún zǐ去了qù le洗手间xǐ shǒu jiān。
She saw a laundry basket. 她tā看到kàn dào一个yí gè洗衣xǐ yī篮lán。
Inside, there was Dad's white shirt and Mom's dress. 里面lǐ miàn有yǒu爸爸bà ba的de白bái衬衫chèn shān，还有hái yǒu妈妈mā ma的de裙子qún zǐ。
Xiaoyu said, "I'll wash them together." 小雨xiǎo yǔ说shuō：“我wǒ一起yì qǐ洗xǐ吧ba。”
She put the new dress, Dad's shirt, and Mom's dress all into the washing machine. 她tā把bǎ新xīn裙子qún zǐ、爸爸bà ba的de衬衫chèn shān和hé妈妈mā ma的de裙子qún zǐ都dōu放进fàng jìn洗衣xǐ yī机jī。
She poured in a little laundry detergent, pressed the button, and the washing machine started washing the clothes. 她tā倒了dǎo le一点yì diǎn儿ér洗衣xǐ yī液yè，按下àn xià开关kāi guān，洗衣xǐ yī机jī开始kāi shǐ洗衣服xǐ yī fu了liǎo。
Thinking about being able to wear her new dress tomorrow, Xiaoyu was very happy. 想到xiǎng dào明天míng tiān就jiù能néng穿上chuān shàng新xīn裙子qún zǐ，小雨xiǎo yǔ很hěn开心kāi xīn。
After a while, the laundry was done. 过guò了一liǎo yī会huì儿ér，衣服yī fu洗xǐ好了hǎo le。
Xiaoyu opened the washing machine and took the clothes out. 小雨xiǎo yǔ打开dǎ kāi洗衣xǐ yī机jī，把bǎ衣服yī fu拿ná出来chū lái。
She saw Dad's white shirt and was startled: 她tā看到kàn dào爸爸bà ba的de白bái衬衫chèn shān，吓了xià le一跳yí tiào：
"Ah? Why did it turn pink?" “啊a？怎么zěn me变成biàn chéng粉红fěn hóng色sè了liǎo？”
It turned out her red dress had bled color in the wash. 原来是yuán lái shì她的tā de红hóng裙子qún zǐ掉色diào sè了liǎo。
"If I had known, I would have washed them separately..." “早zǎo知道zhī dào，我wǒ就jiù分开fēn kāi洗了xǐ le……”
Just then, Mom and Dad came back. 这时zhè shí，爸爸bà ba妈妈mā ma回来huí lái了liǎo。
Xiaoyu was a little afraid. 小雨xiǎo yǔ有yǒu点儿diǎn ér害怕hài pà。
She said, "Dad, I have some good news and some bad news." 她tā说shuō：“爸爸bà ba，我有wǒ yǒu一个yí gè好消息hǎo xiāo xī，还有hái yǒu一个yí gè坏huài消息xiāo xī。”
"Which one do you want to hear first?" “你想nǐ xiǎng先xiān听tīng哪nǎ一个yí gè？”
Dad said, "Tell me the good news first." 爸爸bà ba说shuō：“先xiān说shuō好消息hǎo xiāo xī吧ba。”
Xiaoyu said, "I helped you wash the clothes, and I washed them very clean." 小雨xiǎo yǔ说shuō：“我wǒ帮bāng你们nǐ men洗衣服xǐ yī fu了liǎo，洗xǐ得很dé hěn干净gān jìng。”
Mom asked, "And the bad news?" 妈妈mā ma问wèn：“那nà坏huài消息xiāo xī呢ne？”
Xiaoyu said, "Dad's shirt turned pink." 小雨xiǎo yǔ说shuō：“爸爸bà ba的de衬衫chèn shān变成biàn chéng粉红fěn hóng色sè了liǎo。”
Dad was very surprised: "Ah? No way!" 爸爸bà ba很hěn惊讶jīng yà：“啊a？不会bú huì吧ba？”
Mom said, "Pink is not bad, it looks good too." 妈妈mā ma说shuō：“粉红fěn hóng色sè，还hái可以kě yǐ，也yě很好hěn hǎo看kàn。”
Xiaoyu went on to say, "Mom, your dress also turned pink." 小雨xiǎo yǔ接着jiē zhe说shuō：“妈妈mā ma，你的nǐ de裙子qún zǐ也yě变成biàn chéng粉红fěn hóng色sè了liǎo。”
Mom said, "Ah?! That's my favorite dress!" 妈妈mā ma说shuō：“啊a？！那是nà shì我wǒ最zuì喜欢xǐ huan的de一条yì tiáo裙子qún zǐ！”
Dad smiled and said, "Who was it just now that said pink also looks good?" 爸爸bà ba笑xiào着zhe说shuō：“刚才gāng cái是shì谁shuí说shuō，粉红fěn hóng色sè也yě很好hěn hǎo看kàn？”
